Scene Script
(The escape from the LRA)
Brooke -- Hannah
Kevin – Jacob
Mac – Oteka
Ian – Paul
(Scene starts with Jacob and Paul sitting on a bench. Oteka walks up and sits beside Jacob.)
Mac: we need to talk tonight. When the sun goes down pretend your sleeping we’ll talk then.
(Oteka walks away)
Kevin: That didn’t sound good.
Ian: We should get some sleep.
Kevin: You go a head I’ll be there in a bit.
(Paul walks away. Hannah walks in)
Kevin: Hi
Brooke: Don’t talk to me you’ll get us both killed.
Kevin: I know I just want to talk to someone new.
Brooke : Well make a new friend. Try a guy not a girl.
Kevin: how did you get here?
Brooke: (rolls eyes)
Kevin: I asked a question it’s rude not to answer.
Brooke: My family was cursed my parents died and my sister ran away. The rest of my family died before I was born. I met another orphan like me her name was Sarah we became sisters. We needed to leave our village so we left in the night. The LRA took us. I have been here for 3 years.
Kevin: And your friend Sarah?
Brooke: I don’t want to talk about.
Kevin: I understand.
Brook I must leave.
(Hannah walks away)
(Scene – Paul and Jacob are lying down “sleeping”)
Kevin: Do you think he got caught?
Ian: I hope not!
(Oteka comes and sits beside Jacob)
Mac: We’re leaving tonight.
Kevin: The colt?
Mac: No, we’re leaving tonight.
Kevin: you mean runaway?
Mac: Yes, there is a opening east from the campfire.
Ian: When do we leave?
Mac: As soon as you're ready, but you'd better be ready soon. There's no telling how long it will be before the gaurds notice something and close the gap that we have.
Kevin: I'm not leaving without Norman.
Ian: Are you crazy!? By the time we get him free either we'll be dead or they'll have discovered the escape route.....or both!
Mac: I'm sorry Jacob but I'm with Paul. We won't get another chance like this again.
Kevin: Then go, but I'm staying unless you agree to help me save Norman.
(all pause for a moment)
Mac: Alright, but at the first sign of trouble we're pulling out of there, understand?
